CHALIBAUDE-LES NOCES DU PAPILLION, LP, 1976, FRANCE

Truly lovely rustic/folkloric and occasionally quasi-celtic sounding gamboling and capering French folk prog, touching at various times on everything from the magisterial and gothically haunted sounding acid folk-ish moves of the Broselmaschine/Emtidi/Hoelderlin wing of the krautrock scene to the dewy-eyed anthemic folk rock of Canada's Harmonium and rollicking trot of Muck Groh and Belgium's Nuit Caline A La Villa Mon Reve.

Track 7 seems to be missing. Last track indicates 6/7. Maybe there is no Track 7. Another blog which has posted this LP says there is no Track 7.

http://ezhevika.blogspot.com/2006/06/chalibaude-les-noces-du-papillon-1976.htmlThis below still seems to be valid RS link, but probably ripped at a lower bit rate (file size is much less), unless Eric got it here and then transcoded it up to 256 bit rate:

anonymous-Actually, that track 7 thing was a snafu that I failed to remove. It amounts to nothing more than 4 seconds of silence on the CDR burn of this I had. Actually, the link on the Ezhevika Fields is dead, not active and has been so for a long while, which is why it's been re-upped here. Couldn't imagine this one staying lost to history any longer....

the album cover does not jive with your description of the music but that makes me even more interested. thank you so much for sharing. sounds very interesting either way. i think the french were on top of the music world from about the mid 70s to the early 80s. wonder when this one is from...
